The Vancouver Whitecaps have made the decision to promote from within the organization for the next head coach of their team. Assistant coach Carl Robinson will replace former manager Martin Rennie, who did not have his contract renewed at the end of the season after two years with the club. He first moved to North America in 2007 to play with Toronto FC and made 74 appearances with the club before finishing his playing career with the New York Red Bulls in 2011.
