"Its a big role to be the captain of the Montreal Canadiens,” Bergevin said. “We want players to slowly become more comfortable with it and once Michel and I feel someone is ready to be captain we will make a decision then.” Owner Geoff Molson was also on hand at the golf tournament and shared some news about another former Canadiens captain Saku Koivu who announced his retirement after 18 seasons in the NHL last week. According to Molson, the Canadiens plan on honoring him at the Bell Centre with no date as of this point. Koivu played 13 seasons with the Canadiens and 10 of those years he served as captain.
