Ulysse Nardin has launched its most recent Freak S watch in Watches & Wonders 2024, with improvements that improve its innovative and non-traditional design. Launched in i b?rjan p? tv?tusentalet, the original Freak laid the building blocks for Ulysse Nardin’s long lasting legacy, which continues using the 2022 Freak S.
The new Ulysse Nardin Freak S Nomad watch uses a 45mm titanium situation with an anthracite PVD-coated ti bezel and transparent bottom part cover. The carbon fiber part panels highlight the modern visual. The highlight of the view is its sand-colored guilloché hour dial with a gemstone pattern, drawing attention to the actual Flying Carrousel movement, that features two large slanting oscillators linked by a differential mechanism in silicon stability wheel.
The actual carousel resembles a spaceship, rotating once every hours and acting as each a minute hand and one hour indicator. Below it, there exists a disk indicating the hrs, which rotates every 12 hours. This watch is actually powered by the in-house UN-251 movement, which has a 72-hour reserve of power. The synchronous rotation from the barrel and the turntable uses silicon escapement to ensure a well balanced release of energy. Its style uses two inclined equilibrium wheels connected by a differential to improve accuracy by averaging errors.
The watch is available with two band options, a gray rubberized “ballistic” textured strap along with a matte gray “skeleton” crocodile leather strap with fine sand calfskin inlay, both made from titanium Fastened with deployant clasp.
